The Grief Map: Grief & Adaptation to Loss
November 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Grief is the natural response to loss and is very complex. Everyone grieves in their own way, but there are commonalities. Grief is permanent and its intensity subsides as the person finds a way to accept the reality of death and restore wellbeing. However, for some bereaved people, troubling thoughts or feelings, problematic behaviors or severe social and life problems block the adaptation to the loss.
The result is Complicated Grief (CG). CG is associated with impairment in functioning and increased suicidal thinking. Research suggests that people suffering in this way respond significantly better to targeted complicated grief therapy (CGT).
We invite you to come and learn about this evidence-based therapy with us.
