No Surprises Act – How will I know my treatment costs? Expand

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 877-696-6775.

Is counseling confidential? Expand

All client-therapist conversations are private and confidential. It is also confidential information that a person is even in treatment with a therapist. Information is never disclosed without written permission. There are some exceptions to this: suspected child abuse or dependent adult/elder abuse, if a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person, or if a client intends to harm himself/herself.

How long does counseling take? Expand

How long counseling will take depends on the individual and their specific situation. Some people see improvement in as little as a few sessions, others may continue for months, often with increasing periods of time between sessions. All sessions are 50 minutes long.

We recommend that you follow through with counseling until you have accomplished the goals that you and your counselor discussed at the beginning. If you find at any time that you would like to terminate your therapy, we recommend you schedule one last appointment to discuss your progress and how to maintain it in the future.

What if I need to cancel my appointment? Expand

We have reserved your appointment time exclusively for you. Therefore, any absences or cancellations will be charged the full amount unless you notify your provider at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. If your appointment is on a Monday, cancellations must be made by Friday. Unforeseen emergencies will be considered.

How do I contact CCPC's counseling and wellness practitioners? Expand

Feel free to call our schedulers to learn more about what we offer and discuss the best counselor for your needs. You can reach them at 435-649-2260 ext. 1.
