Goshute Community Garden

Thanks to a generous grant from Jane Shock and American Express, we have been providing healthy, kid-friendly food each week to the school children of the Goshute Tribe, in far Western Utah.  Additionally, this year we started a Community Garden for the Goshute Community.  Each month, we are also providing a healthy mobile food pantry for the Goshute Community.  It is our hope that we can help provide healthy, organic and locally grown vegetables and fruits for the Goshutes in addition to our healthy mobile food pantry.

Over the past twelve years, the Christian Center has organized 15 trips down to the Navajo people living around the southeastern edge of Utah, in the “Four Corners” area. We are now excited to be partnering with the Goshute tribe of Western Utah, by delivering healthy, kid-friendly food to be distributed each week to their school children, in addition to the Community Garden. We will be providing a backpack full of school supplies the first week of school, in addition to the bag of food. Each subsequent week, we will ensure that every school child has a backpack full of healthy food each week, throughout the school year.
