Thrift Shoppe – NEW STORE OPENED JANUARY 2009
Park City's only Thrift Shop now has competition—from itself! Opening this past January, "Center Stage" is our new "high end" boutique thrift shop located right on Iron Horse Drive at eh west end of our building. Traci Johnson operates both stores daily Tuesday – Saturday from 10AM – 5PM. The new store features antiques, collectibles, home furnishings, and some really nice clothing and shoes. Call Traci at the Christian Center's phone, 435-649-2260, and ask for extension 20 "Center stage."
The original Thrift Shoppe is still located in the building behind the Center. It constantly maintains a large selection of clothes and household items at bargain basement prices. We feature daily specials for half of the already reduced price, and a FREE section daily.
We accept donations Tuesday – Saturday between the hours of 11:00AM – 3:00PM. A tax receipt will be given to you for all your donations.
Furniture Outreach Programs
Through the kind and generous donations from the people of this community, the Christian Center continues to help families in need. Donated furniture is used for several outreach programs connected with Transitional Housing and with Peace House. If you would like to find out more about free furniture, please call David or Traci Johnson at the Christian Center 435-655-0196 or email david@ccofpc.org or traci@ccofpc.org.
Local Furniture Assistance
Annually, the Christian Center participates in the Diversity Day fair at City Park, where truckloads of furniture, clothing, and household items are given away and sometimes sold at a very low cost. We also freely donate to many locals in need throughout the year.
Statewide Furniture Assistance
Twice monthly the Christian Center brings clothing, furniture and household items to distribute freely to refugees in Salt Lake City. Check out Alfred Murillo and the Dream Center to see what great things they are doing there in Salt Lake City.
International Assistance
Every winter, hundreds of international students come to Park City to work the local resorts. They rent unfurnished apartments which leaves these students in great need. Your donations help the Christian Center assist these young people as they work in our community. When they leave, their items are often returned and given to the Navajo mission.
Navajo Reservation
Over the past eight years the center has conducted 16 missions to the Reservation. Our last trip was in October of 2008. We have wonderful memories and photos of our time there. But times are changing.
This past year there was a new organization that began operations in Blanding with outposts on the Reservation. They are called Transitions, and Sandy Asbury is their director. We have determined that their work, in partnership with the Utah Food Bank is an able replacement for our trips to Bluff and Monument Valley. In the future we encourage you to be in touch with them should you wish to participate in a Navajo Mission.
