Navajo Mission Trips
Next Navajo Mission Scheduled for Late September
If you think there are needy people in Park City, you ought to see life down on the Navajo Reservation! Over the past eight years, the Christian Center has conducted 15 trips to Bluff and surrounding back-country Navajo homes. We have brought food, bedding, household items, a greenhouse, dinners, medical teams, healing services, eye glasses, and repair and roofing projects. We like to serve meals to the Navajo and invite them to join our team. Last fall our barbeque in Ojaito served 75 Navajos after the healing service we held for them and before the furniture giveaway.
Late this September we plan a return trip to Monument Valley. We can only take a dozen people due to logistics. If you are interested please call us for more details. We need donated food and/or household items to distribute. We welcome volunteers to help assemble the family packages during August. For more information contact the office at 435-649-2260.
Fifteen Navajo Mission trips over the past eight years have established the Center as a friend and strong advocate for the Navajo in southern Utah.
A weekend ministry opportunity, Thursday through Sunday, April and October in Bluff, Utah. In partnership with Utah Navajo Partners, we take a team of workers to serve our Navajo Native Americans by providing food, household items, furniture, medical examinations, eye examinations, glasses, building projects, prayers for the people, and more. Cost of approximately $150–$200 includes motel, transportation, food, or can stay free in Community Center.
In 2008 we will be transitioning our Navajo Mission outreach to support an emerging local program on the reservation called "Transitions." These local workers provide food and household items to the reservation. They also train the handicapped in jobs, and give the Navajo an opportunity to help themselves. For information as to how we will partner with "Transitions," please contact Tim Dahlin at the Center.
Cuba Mission Trip
Tim Dahlin, CCofPC executive Director traveled with East-West Ministries for a week's outreach in Cuba during Spring 2004. Tim and the team of 12 men traveled doing house to house evangelism, church building, and discipleship training. 345 people made personal commitments to Jesus Christ during this trip. Future mission trips are being planned. Call if interested in being a participant.
