HandyHands
Today, thousands in our community are out of work, under-employed, even desperate! The Christian Center of Park City has launched an employment service to help support and train reliable entry-level and beyond workers, and assist them in finding temporary and/or full-time jobs.
The HandyHands program works in partnership with Utah 's Department of Workforce Services. It was designed with the idea of teaching and training people to become more marketable in the workplace. Our classes will provide you with the necessary tools you will need to further your career. We want to help you succeed in strengthening your job skills, grow in your spiritual walk, and find joy in your life.
About the Program
HandyHands is an employment service arm of the Christian Center of Park City. We believe work is good for everyone. We believe it is our privilege to work, and that work is a personal expression of a loving God who wants our lives be creative, productive, and fulfilling. HandyHands is not an exercise in religious orientation. Participants need not believe or practice any faith to be involved in the HandyHands program. No religious indoctrination will be part of the training. An optional devotional time is available with each day's training for those who may wish to participate.
HandyHands Employment Services are available by scheduling a personal class. During that time our staff and facilities are available to assist you. We will help you evaluate your job options and set a plan for your next steps.
The HandyHands typical training schedule is:
- 8:30
- Orientation, applications, self-assessment, video overview
- 9:00
- Class instruction and video program
- 10:30
- Writing your plans, information, checking leads, networking
- 11:00
- End of day's session
HandyHands will help you work through a plan toward more successful employment. There are five interrelated parts to that plan. All parts are optional. You can choose those most helpful to you. Taken together they provide the greatest advantage. They include:
- Attending a devotional time for spiritual and emotional encouragement as you transition from one job to another.
- Organizing your information and preparing a work-search notebook.
- Viewing and responding to a series of videos for employment related training.
- Participating in a classroom discussion.
- Following through with contacts, networking, tracking leads, and reporting.
The goal of HandyHands is that you will be able to take the next step forward in your pathway to a more fulfilling life and successful employment.
