I love our town. I'm sure you do too! We have spectacular scenery, wonderful weather, and exciting events. On the surface everyone’s happy here…but thousands are hanging on by a thread. They work with us and support our system, but they're falling through the cracks. Look in any direction and you'll find friends and families in crisis. We must help each other—at the grass roots level, here and now! We need a place to bring the able and the needy together. The New Christian Center is just such a place.
For ten years, the Christian Center has been meeting needs in our community. Now, it is expanding its reach and increasing its services. To do this we are moving a block south to 1283 Deer Valley Drive, at the corner of Bonanza and Deer Valley Drive. Our new building will be rent-neutral, yet 5,000 sq ft larger than our old place! We provide 13,000 sq ft of community support in what we call "A Circle of Service."
We need your help! Remodeling will require $400,000. Outreach Programs are another $200,000. Your gift of $50/month or more will help many needy people in many ways. Thank you for your kind donations! Checks should be made payable to The Christian Center of Park City, or you may donate online with your credit/debit card of bank account through PayPal using the button above.
Our Services
- Physical - each day our food pantry collects and distributes over 1,200 pounds of free food to support thousands of poor and hungry people. We also collect and give away thousands of dollars worth of clothing and household items each week right here in Summit County. The new pantry is double the size of the old one.
- Emotional - in our new building we are launching a 1,000 sq ft, full-time counseling center with trained professionals to help those with emotional and psychological needs.
- Relational - the Center is the only local agency uniting and supporting hundreds of international seasonal workers through weekly free dinners. We serve 3,000 meals each season and also find them ski equipment, jobs, housing, and roommates. The Center’s new dining area is more than double the space of our previous building.
- Spiritual - the Center serves all our faith communities, and holds its own prayer and Bible study group. The new building will accommodate worship/meeting space for three local congregations.
- Financial - the Center has distributed over $45,000 in emergency assistance to people going through crisis times where no other means of support are available.
- Educational - the enlarged meeting room is 2,000 sq ft for films, seminars, lectures, classes, and training sessions. The bookstore will occupy another 500 sq ft of space.
- Vocational - a reception area work station and job posting board will help us continue to network with Utah's Dept. of Workforce Services and provide day labor.
- Volunteerism - the Center enlists over 300 volunteers in community service throughout the year.
