Fees:  It is our desire to offer affordable counseling for anyone seeking it.  Leah Harter is a contracted provider with: Aetna, BlueCross and/or BlueShield, PEHP, Cigna, EMI Health, Health Utah Network, Horizon Healthcare, Humana, MHNet, Magellan Behavioral Health, PacifiCare, Blomquist Hale and United Behavioral Health.  Please contact your insurance company prior to your first session to verify your coverage.

Experience & Education:  

Private practice counselor since 1999, adjunct psychology professor at several colleges.  

Masters Counseling and Youth and Family Ministries from Denver Seminary, 1997.  B.A.  Christian Education, Wheaton College, 1994.

 

Areas of specialty:  

Individual adults, families and adolescents.  

Depression, anxiety, relationship problems, stress, grief, low self-esteem, conflict management, anger, boundaries, forgiveness and women’s issues.  In addition, Leah has experience with issues specific to premarital couples using the PREPARE/ENRICH materials, families in ministry vocations and struggling teens.  

Conducts seminars/ workshops on:  grief and loss, depression, marriage, parenting, self-esteem, managing stress, and boundaries for both teen and adult audiences.

35 years as a Registered Nurse.  Private practice counselor since 2000.  

Masters in Counseling from Denver Seminary, 2000. BSN from University of Wyoming,1979.

 

 

Areas of specialty:

Couples, Individual adults, families.

Anxiety/depression, relationship difficulties, grief, communication skills, building esteem, anger management, boundaries, differentiating guilt from shame, forgiveness, spiritual direction. Premarital counseling with couples using the PREPARE/ENRICH materials. Phyllis offers counseling in tune with Brene Brown's research on how to live a "wholehearted life" and marriage counseling influenced by the Gottman method.

 

Has contributed to seminars/ workshops/trainings on: Surviving Grief and Living with Loss, Field Traumatology and Compassion Fatigue, Communication/Relationship Skills, Boundaries, & leading Spiritual Retreats.
