Tuesday Nite Dinners

We have completed nine seasons of serving our international and seasonal workers through the Christian Center. The New Christian Center facility fully accommodated the needs of this great group of young people. The expanded Food Pantry fed them; the Thrift Shop afforded them free and low cost clothes and household supplies; and the Tuesday Nite Dinners have been a great success. This year about we are READY for you again!

Here’s a quote from Andrea, a young woman who attended several dinners:  “Christianity isn’t just about giving to the people who are poor in money. I can see that the Tuesday night dinners are more about creating feelings of family, love, friendship, and fellowship, which is exactly the essence of Christianity. It is a way of giving to the poor of heart. When I come to a Christian Center dinner, I look down the table and I see all my friends eating together and laughing together.

We ride together to get there; talk about the message…together. I started this season by moving here to Park City, barely knowing anyone. Now, I feel like I have friends and the Christian Center giving us a time and a place to be together is a wonderful thing. What better way to share the message of Jesus than with amazing free food and lots of ridiculous giveaways and games. So many of the people in my generation are afraid of the judgment of Christians. They feel afraid that they will be criticized and judged for their flaws and sins. Never ever have I seen anyone judged at the Christian Center. Everyone is welcome and accepted. I appreciate that so much because the true meaning of Christianity is being shared without the negatives.”

There is perhaps no better way to build great friendships with people from all over the world, than by sharing a meal with those from different countries!  Join us this year!

Roomate Roundup starts on Wed nights, November 30, at 5 PM. Roommate Roundup, we will help you find a place to stay, introduce you to landlords and introduce you to others also looking for a place to rent!  Don’t miss it!  Every Wednesday nite at 5 PM from November 30 through December 21.

Tuesday Nite Dinners start January 10th, at 6 PM. Every Tuesday night we host a special dinner with some entertainment for all seasonal workers.  Here you will meet people from all over the world, including Brazil, Argentina, Poland, New Zealand, Australia and the US.  Last year, we had over 20 countries represented!  Some of the highlights from last year included hilarious games, sports competition, great prize giveaways, Mardi-Gras nite and of course our weekly karaoke!

THANK YOU Volunteers! We give a big “Thank You” to the many volunteers who joined together to make the service so personal. From the moment young people walked in the door to register, all the way through serving the food, picking up the used dishes, cleaning up the room, even driving students back to their condos—every part of the night was made possible by dedicated and caring men and women. We also had help from the Boy Scouts, the Park City Ambassadors, Park City Rotary (Sunrise), and from members of just about every church in town. We also greatly thank Windy Ridge Restaurant for their HUGE donation of food each week—bringing in pizzas and salads and desserts to feed over 100 people!
