Caring counselors from the Counseling Center of Park City are a new aspect of the vital programs and services offered through the Christian Center of Park City. We’re a team of passionate, Christian counselors dedicated to helping you move from the sticking points in your life and learn more about yourself in the process.

Fees: It is our desire to offer affordable counseling for anyone seeking it. Leah Harter is a contracted provider with: Aetna, BlueCross and/or BlueShield, Cigna, EMI Health, Health Utah Network, Horizon Healthcare, Humana, MHNet, Magellan Behavioral Health, PacifiCare and United Behavioral Health. Please contact your insurance company prior to your first session to verify your coverage.
Scholarships are also available to those who qualify through our application process.

Leah Harter
, MA, LPC
Experience: Private practice counselor since 1999. Adjunct Psychology Professor at Colorado Christian University since 2008. She has over 16 years of experience working with teens and their parents as a counselor as well as a youth pastor, women’s group leader and speaker. Leah has been married to Rob Harter, Executive Director of the Christian Center of Park City since 1994 and they have three school aged girls.
Areas of specialty: Individual adults, families and adolescents. Stress, grief, low self-esteem, conflict management, anxiety, depression, anger, relationship problems, boundaries, forgiveness and women’s issues, premarital, families in ministry vocations and struggling teens. She conducts seminars on grief and loss, depression, marriage, parenting, self esteem, managing stress, and boundaries for both teen and adult audiences.

Phyllis Rehn, RN, MA, LPC 
Experience: Phyllis has been in private practice as a Christian Counselor since 1998 and a Registered Nurse since 1978. She has been on staff as a church counselor in addition to her private practice. She has taught relationship classes, Bible studies, spoken at retreats, conferences and community organizations. She is active in missions and prison ministries. Her years as a RN have taught her empathy, compassion and coming along side of people in their time of need. She loves reading and walking.

Kara Jensen MS, LPC, NCC
Experience: Kara was a counselor with Christian Counseling Centers of Utah (formerly known as Shepherd Staff Christian Counseling Center) for 5 years with dual offices in Salt Lake City and Park City. Kara and Melissa Litwiller started Pathways Counseling Center in September 2010. She has many years of experience in the corporate world as a corporate trainer for a communications company and is used to speaking and training in front of large crowds. She has also led women’s Bible studies, teen small groups, teen classes, youth retreats, and is currently a volunteer member of her church youth program. Kara loves speaking at conferences and has spoken at community mental health events, youth retreats, and led classes in the community on various topics.

Melissa Litwiller
Melissa Litwiller, M.A., NCC, LPC – works with couples, individuals, families, teens, and children. Melissa comes to us from Colorado with 8 years experience as a counselor. She is a licensed professional counselor in both Colorado and Utah and enjoys working with couples, individuals, families, teens, and children. Melissa acquired her Masters Degree in Counseling from Denver Seminary and believes that her educational background and her personal relationship with Christ, as well as her internship and fellowship experiences in various churches uniquely qualify her to provide Christian counseling to those clients who want to incorporate faith in their healing process. Melissa is certified to provide marital and premarital counseling, using the Prepare/Enrich Assessment. She also has several trauma specific certifications, foster and adoption specific training, play therapy training, and experience and certifications in a number of different therapeutic approaches helpful to individual adults and teens. Melissa adopts a holistic-experiential approach to counseling, helping people to heal mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, by addressing problems relationally and in the present moment.
